We just booked the Philippine Siren for June 2027. It's a 7 day trip, so after we get off the liveaboard, we want to stay at a dive resort to maximize our time in the Philippines. We would do 5-7 days there. What are the best places to do this to experience more of Philippines diving? Any recommendations are appreciated!

Tubbataha and get off at Puerto Princesa. Unfortunately there is not much diving around Puerto Princesa.
Catch a flight to Cebu and make your way to Malapascua for the thresher shark.
Alternatively fly to Manila and sample either Anilao or Puerto Galera or even both.

Thank you! We were just looking at a couple resorts in Puerto Galera (Atlantis and Casalay). Atlantis also has a resort in Dumaguete. Which is better - Dumaguete or Puerto Galera?

Depends what kind of diving you're looking for. Shipwrecks, coron or subuc. Macro, anilao or dauin/dumaguete. Threshers, malapascua. Walls and shoals of Sardines, Moalboal. A mix of everything, Panglao Bohol or Puerto Galera.

Where are you departing from Philippines?
I do not think there is direct flight from Puerto Princesa(PPS) to Dumaguete(DGT). Connection is through Cebu, Manila and others so it takes time. Check the flight schedules of both Cebu Pacific and Philippines Air Lines. Dumaguete is mainly from macro except on trip to Apo Island.
Puerto Galera is an nice all rounder but getting there by private transfer is ridiculously expensive.
Atlantis is over price.
This is better:

If you really like macro then Anilao is highly recommended. And if weather turns foul then Manila is only few hrs away by car. June is the beginning of typhoon season so beware.

My suggestion is Malapascua. The beach is very nice.

I love macro, but also want to see other stuff as well. Heavy on macro wouldn't be a disappointment though.

We will be departing from Manila, so we'll definitely want to be somewhere that's not TOO difficult to make our way back to Manila.

When you say "ridiculously expensive" for private transfer to Puerto Galera, what are we talking about price-wise? What about time-wise?

Go back to Manila and dive Anilao (mainly macro) or Asia Divers at Puerto Galera.

Atlantis are over priced for what they offer.

Anilao.

One way(van + speed boat) with no one to share the cost is US$300.00 from NAIA to PG. US$30.00pp if taking public but that takes time and a wee bit of effort.
