I down loaded the last couple of diving days from my Sherwood Wisdom this evening and noted that the file for the 3rd dive on 6-13-04 was huge and included excursions to 256', 265', and 271' as well as several more "in excess of 330 ft". The dive also included several ascents to 0 ft that in fact did not occur.

This is particularly odd as the dive was a 51 minute dive to a maximum depth of 66 feet.

The data for the two dives completed today, 127' for 30 minutes and 78' for 26 minutes, appeared to be entirely normal in all respects with normal file size, details and dive graphs.

None of the oddities on the June 13th dive were noted on the computer during or after the dive and the max depths and ascent rates recorded appear accurate in the appropriate log boxes. The depth excursions and ficticious ascents just appear on the download software "details" and "dive graph" pages.

I am unsure if this a download software bug or a possible computer problem. I am hoping it's a software issueas it is in all other respects a fantastic computer

My first Wisdom died at depth midway through last season after about 85 dives and Sherwood was very good about replacing it immediately. The replacement now has 72 dives on it. I did not receive the download kit before the first one died as the D/L kit was backordered, so I am not aware if it had any similar issues prior to failing.

Has anyone else encountered any similar problems? If so, have you gotten any input from Sherwood on the matter?

I've seen that on computers before... lots of times is can be caused by sgtrong magnetic fields near the computer. I was talking to the techs over at Aeris about it, and they were able to duplicate false reading during a dive if the computer was set very close to a boat motor - the magnetic field it throws off can mess up a few bits of data in the memory for the dives - but it does not affect any of the reading of how much nitrogen you actually have for your surface interval, repetitive dives etc...

I don't know if that's what caused it in yours... could also just be a software glitch like you said... but aside from the download info - it doesn't hurt anything.
