Ok so I think I experienced a reverse block after finishing my pool sessions, Im curious as to what you all think. I have experienced this before while pool swimming and snorkeling, but not quite as bad. In the last 2 hours orso of pool exercises I began to get a headache. It wasnt bad but worsened at the end. After I finished and was heading home I would rate the headache as a 7 on a scale of 1-10. I had slight nausea that began to go away on the ride home. If you place the tip of your right index finger at the peak of your nose and let it rest on your face down the eye socket to your upper lip, that is where the pain/pressure was. While I was watching tv at home with my wife about 2 hours after my class I started to hear a slight hissing sound. My wife looked over and she heard it also. The pressure began to lift and after about a full minute plus of this "hissing" the pain was gone and the headache began to lift.
Basically I have two questions.
1. I noticed I had a tendancy to inhale through my nose once in a while and "suck" the mask to my face. Could this have been a result of doing that. I began working on not doing that during class but mabey the damage was already done?
2. Could it just be a sinus issue that I need to find a Dive Doc in my area to see?
Any ideas would be appreciated. I will monitor the problem while doing my open water certs and update when I can. I never had a problem equalizing my ears, I never had any pain or discomfort aside from the headache and slight nausea tword the end of class. Last year while snorkeling in Cozumel I had a similar although not as drastic headace accompanied with nausea. After vomiting in the water however, the nausea dissapeard and the headache subsided shortly after. I must add that my "fish feeding" really livened up the area with fish
I cant wait for warm weather!
