I have some new information on the cold-shoe ball mounting devices:

While I was not satisfied with the Inon Cold shoe ball mount (shaky and loose, see above), I have purchased now a Nauticam cold-shoe ball mount and used it for a two week diving vacation in the Red Sea: The Nauticam one is very firm and stable - no more complaints...
