Hi all
I heard that Poseidon regulators are the top. I usually dive with aqua-lung Calipso. Also I tried a regulator of one of my friends scubapro MK20/G600.
Can you please tell me which is better the scubapro or the Poseidon. because I am willing to buy a new regulator soon, so I want to which to buy.

Thanks alot for your help.

Gehadoski, I own both the SP MK 20 and the Poseidon Jetstream. I like them both.

They both give you good positive even breathing response even at depths of 30-50m.

I find the SP doesn't like to be inverted, the Poseidon doesn't seem to care.

As you are in warm water, you don't really worry about free flow in cold water (SP).

The Poseidon needs at least intermediate pressure to activate the pilot valve in the second stage, so you can't breathe a tank down to zero with the Poseidon, so you must always have excess air pressure. I.e. you need about 10 bar in the tank.

The SP has a life-time warranty (parts included) with annual servicing.

Well, I am busy otherwise I would discuss this more. I heard the Calypso is the economy model but quite suitable for warm water diving. How do you find it?

Hello,

below you can find some links to read.

My good advise - test them both and then decide.
My personal - Swedish made Poseidon. OK, lot of investments but long lasting toy. I'm using Xstream & Jetstream in different conditions from warm seas to contaminated cold waters and it work just perfect.

my regards

Calypso is very good as for second stage, but the first stage is not balanced. First stage is not that good in diving too deep and it is very risky thats why I am going to change my regulator.

Poseidon is very nice. I like the new Xstream. They are definetely a high performance reg. They are however, unlike any other reg I have ever tried. I don't know if you are familiar with the servo assisted valve construction which breathes completely different that allother regs. Some people maynot like it and as they are quite expensive, I would recommend trying before buying.

Awesome reg though. Zero breathing effort.
