Hi,

Just got a Poseidon Unisuit Exclusive and the the zipper needs to be lubricated or whatever you with it :)
I asked at my LDS and they gave me a block of wax or something and just told me to rub it against the teeth on the zipper. Just tried it on a small area and that didn't work the wax which is really hard just kind of gut stuck between the teeth on the chain and didn't make it any easier to move.

I suppose the wax thingie is not what you need for this type of zipper so what should I use and where do I get it?

Attached a pic of the zipper as well.

Cheers

Normal candle works well enough. Lightly rub the outer teeth of the zip with candle, and close and open the zip twice. Some zip from manufacturer other than BDM is somehow hard to slide, but it is normal of them.

Hi
I know the trouble you are having...
Should try the wax in cold weather...lol.
Your zipper is still new so it will be tight.
I have tried all the lubes.
The wax works well, but apply a thin layer, not enough to get in between the teeth.
Coat the zipper and then use a tooth brush to clean in between the teeth then work the zipper a few times. the wax will warm up and and get better.
After many suits , and zippers.
The one i use is Seal Saver.
A liquid reconditioner for dry suits.
Used on zipper and seals.
A few drops on each seal and rub it in.
On the zipper, a drop every 20 teeth ,or so and work the zipper a few times.
Make sure you put a drop or 2 on the end of your finger and rub it on the teeth, on the inside of the suit as well.
The mating surfaces of the material. in the zipper.
In a pinch, I use Liquid K-Y , but it is water based and has to be reapplied every dive.
Where-as Seal Saver will last 20 dives or so.
If your fins stick after a dive, put a drop or 2 in the boot of your fin and rub it in.
Hope this helps.

Start with this page if you are trying to find the actual zipper wax that Poseidon supplies with their dry suits. There's a guy there named Bjorn (I think) that sems very knowledgable and has been helpful to me in the past. The around the neck 'U' shapped zipper than the Unisuit uses is somewhat of a weak point due to it's length. Take extra care when you use the zipper that it is pulled inline with the zipper (don't try and zip it yourself around the back).
