Anyone have a definitive way to interpret Poseidon serial numbers to determine age of a reg? I have the regs below and would like to know when they where made. The 3960s are probably 1996? Not sure about the old 300.

I would say that the 3960 definitely dates from 1996; and that 2980, from the early to mid-1970s. I have a couple of Cyklon 300s (2940 and 2989s) within that broader range of serial numbers; and one of them was purchased, new, in 1976. Sorry that I couldn't be any more precise.

On the bright side, rebuild kits are still available for the 300s . . .

Thanks for your help. I know the exact date on the 300 ends in “3” likely. Rebuilt kit is #3884 but will also need adaptors for hose ports which is a pain in the ass.
