For those of you that dive on Poseidon regs .. What is the main difference between the Odin and the Cyklon?
Kind of a new-B question ..

One big difference is that the Odin is an upstream reg and the Cyclon is a downstream.
Other than that, they're both rather nice regs.

I think RIOceanographer is an expert on Odin's of somesort see if you can contact him.

That had nothing to do with the regulator, just the proper Viking way to deal with a misty fjord...... :viking:

Both regs can be breathed on upside down , sideways, any way you can put it in your mouth. Which is great for air-sharing or placement. If you're planing on any ice diving, you can get freeze caps for both of the first stages. With the Odin, the bubble go off to the side at an angle, whereas the Cyklon, they go straight to the side. The mouthpiece seat on the Cyklon is kind of wide. You may or may not like this, as you can't just fit any standard mouthpiece on, whereas you can with the Odin. I have found that the Cyklon breathes a little easier, but I love my Jetsream. The US NAVY has chosen the Jestream for when they use SCUBA due to it's all around performance. That in itself says a lot to me. The owner at my LDS had a rep come in from Poseidon, and I took a course to become a service tech on the Odin, Cyklon, and Xstream. If you're concerned about the servicing, maybe your LDS could set up the same course.

The Cyklon was Poseidon's first single hose offering. The Jetstream/Odin was first called the "Cyklon Maxim" & later got its current name.
The Cyklon continues to be one of, if not the, most robust regs on the market.
Several years back a rotted out pony bottle was found laying on the bottom with a Cyklon attached. It was rinsed out & actually worked after being submerged in saltwater for 2 years. The guys gave it an annual servicing anyway. ;)

I forgot to add that the Odin has a + and - switch on the second stage, whereas the Cyklon doesn't. If you dive the Jetsream, you have to pay attention to where your switch is as to prevent a free-flow. You must remember that Poseidon uses non standard pressures in the first stage (which both are very similar). Also, if you decide to get a Poseidon, and take the service tech course, you can order the "specialty" tools to service them yourself. There are two of these tools. With the Cyklon, you need the both of them, but with the Odin, you only need one of them. Either way, there is not a huge difference. The Cyklon uses a diaphragm, but the Odin doesn't. The biggest difference is probably where the bubbles come out. Depending on if you're taking pictures, etc. you might choose one over the other. They are both great regs, and I'd recommend any of the Poseidons.
