I'm a Fish!
I will be in Portland Maine at the end of August for a wedding. Everyone has been offered the option to play around of golf. I on the other hand want to dive
I am looking for some info on possible beach or boat dives in the area. I can bring all my gear or will rent if needed. I am just doing a little homework before I commit to Golf. I am looking forward to some info from people that are from the area or that have done some diving in the area. Some of the old posts don't give much to go on so....Thanks in advance!
See you topside! John

There are some great dives down that way. I am too far north to be of use to you, but you will find a pretty active group down that way. Try posting this in the New England Lobster Divers forum under the Northeast United States section as well.

Lots of good shore dives in the Portland area. Spectrum will probably chime in soon. In case he doesn't, here's his list of Maine dive sites. My favorites are Nubble Light, Ship's Cove and Biddeford Pool. Let me know when you're looking to dive, maybe we can hook up.

Hi John,

There are a bunch of who are diving frequently and we'd be happy to have you join us. Feel free to PM me as the time draws nearer. We'll be smack dab in the middle of the mildest water and the critters will be out in force. It would be a wasted day on the greens.

Maine Divers usually does a Sunday AM boat dive but we pretty much stick to shore diving.

This page should give you an idea of the sites and local resources.

Pete
