We're taking an o/w class to Porteau tomorrow. If you've been diving there in the last 2 weeks, (since the oil spill) I'd like to hear how it was? I guess I just want confirmation from divers that it really is ok!?!

Thanks for the update. We went on Sat. and you're right, the viz. was totally sh***y... and the current was ripping from a big exchange. The surface was dirty (brown foamy crap)... but no oil, despite the posted warnings of the possibilities of "oil tar balls" ...sounds inviting for a dive, dosen't it?! YUK!
The viz. has actually been not too bad at all at Whytecliff the last couple weekends though... despite the hoards of divers.
