A video of last weekends dive. The vis was not the best but I still saw a few things

That brings back some memories. I used to dive at Porteau Cove a lot in the mid 1980's. At the time there was an intact wooden wreck at about the same location where the tugboat is now (deck at 100ft). Over the years it fell to pieces so I suppose it's either under the sand or it's been cleaned up.

That wreck is burned in my memory because I got "stuck" on it. I went for a swim through of the bridge and some piece of metal slipped right in between the tank value and the A-clamp on my regulator. I felt stuck like the hand of God was holding me there LOL. Some things you just never forget :D

The Nakaya is still there, though it is now outside the park boundary due to its condition. It's still standing but looking kinda shaky and the mid section has collapsed in on itself. I usually try to do either the Nakaya (100') and finish off with some shallow stuff on the way in or do the shallow stuff as a dive in itself.

Ugghh. I guess I should go and make a better video.

I couldn't recall the name until you mentioned it but that's the one.

I don't even recognize it as the same wreck. I got certified in 1984 and did my AOW in early 1985 so I gather that it had only just been sunk when I was diving on it. I wasn't aware of that at the time. At the time it was completely intact, of course and you could swim all through and around her. You sure wouldn't want to get up under that foredeck now. :)

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
