Ok, I asked this once before and don't think I ever found a satisfactory answer, but who knows, maybe I'll have better luck this time. Ever the optimist!

I have a friend who wants to dive in a pool with me to make sure her skills are kosher before going on a regular dive with me, since it's been a little while and she's never done cold water diving. Do you know any local pools that allow divers to practice, or any that can be rented for use? (she has money and is willing to spend it!) Like for a class, but not. I would just use my parent's pool, but it's pretty small and I'd like a little more room to move around.

Thanks!

What about the one in the valley that HD uses for their classes? I did my DS exercises there before I took it out in the real world. You could always go to Westlake and use the one at my parent's house but standing up, 4" of your head will be above water. hahah!

Did you check with Aqua Adventures in Burbank?

Ocean Safari in San Gabriel use the East LA college pool every Tuesday and Thrusday. I think for around 15-20 bucks they let you play around for 3 hours. It's a very nice huge pool, 12 feet deep. Plenty of room to get a real practice. It's located near 10 and 710 btw.

The problem with a dive shop is they're generally going to want to charge you for a class and have an instructor with you if you want to use their pool...

Billy, good idea on the pool Hollywoodivers uses. I contacted the pool and was able to make the arrangements I need. Thanks!

Awesome my friend. When I did my DS exercises I went when they had an OW class there. Basically just asked HD and they didn't blink twice.
