Forgive me for these ignorant questions.

What type of valve is typically used for a pony/stage rig? Is a DIN or yoke typically used? Also, is there a name for the types of short hose (or perhaps there is no hose) pressure gauges often used on a pony/stage bottle? Basically, in detail, what is attached to this bottle?

Now that i actually am taking the time to look at it, it looks like the pressure gauge (sunto) has a short hose, and the valve might be DIN?

You got it on both accounts. Generally a 6 or 7 inch HP hose, and a DIN valve. Often times a 40 inch hose on the reg to make it a little easier to work with while it's slung.

Though din is prefered since the pony is slung it is sometimes excepted to use a yoke (depends the company your in). Alot of agencies will let you get away with it. I strongly suggest the short hose pressure guage.

DIN Valve is what's most commonly used.

The regulator will have a 40 inch low pressure hose and a 6 inch high pressure hose.

Is the pressure gauge fixed to something, or does it just rest there against the first stage?

I use a piece of inner-tube around the tank neck and the base of the guage.

Thanks. I wanted to do a lot more to it, but I don't have a good photo editing program. So many ideas, so little computing power.

Looks like they have used cave line in the photos.
