Evening all,

I have a question that I haven't seen addressed. Using a pony bottle slung like a stage, do you use standard entry from boat ie: Giant Stride, etc. If not, what would be preferred method?

Brutus

Depends on the Boat and the conditions

Either Giant Stride or backward roll if it is rough. with all bottles in place

On a calm day I tend to get in the water and have the crew pass them down then clip em on.

When doing a giant stride, I hold the bottle against my body with my left forearm arm so it can’t bounce around when I hit the water. Once I’m in the water I let go and hardly notice it’s there.

The pony bottle I rigged is a 30 cf. The info y'all provided is very helpful as I have decided to use a pony bottle on the deeper dives planned for this summer.

Thanks again,

Brutus

If doing a giant stride entry, hold it tight against your chest with your left arm to keep it from flopping around when you hit the water.
