Down here I see dive flags on virtually every vehicle on the road, the most common is the tag on the front bumper. I dont down play it, but I certainly dont see as many people diving as I do dive flags on cars.. I wonder if it came with the vehicle at times. I'm cool enough to have one on my license plate (its part of the plate!) one on my trucks back window, my wife has one on her jeep, and you can see our float flag in the window of my office most days :D

You got dive flags on your car!!! Cool!!! Now I know which cars to break into to steal gear!!!!! No stickers or anything dive related on my car!!

I am probably one that fits into your category, although I don't have a dive sticker on my van, but I am thinking about adding my DAN sticker. I am a newbie diver and have only been certified about 4 months... however, I should get some credit for the 35 years I have spent dreaming about it. I have never dove here in the cold US and probably never will do it terribly often... I love the warm waters and the colors of the seas. However, every free minute is spent thinking about, researching, dreaming, learning about scuba.... yet I am somehow disqualified from the elite allowed to display a sticker???? rather ridiculous

(even though I don't have the sticker I have been seriously considering a discreet dive tattoo.... do I need to contact my certifying agency to see if I qualify??)

Peace and warm water,

I just put up a 20' flag pole in our back yard. I proudly display the American flag and the Divers Down flag right below it.

We have a horse farm and also both dive, so for our "farm name" we combined both hobbies. My avatar shows our logo (Sea-Horse Meadows). So the dive flag fits perfectly.

Juls64:
They put a dive flag on their car, not so much to show that they were a diver, but in case there was an accident or something, it may alert the fire dept. or others that there may be tanks in the car.

MAY alert?? Sorry, but if that's your intent, you should put a sticker which clearly states "Tanks of compressed air in the car!"

In a conversation with someone, they told me that was why they put a dive sticker on their car. I thought it was an interesting idea and shared it. I, in fact, do not have any dive related anything on my car.

I have a DAN dive sticker on my P/U canopy. It either means:

1) I've gone diving and won't be around to see you break into my truck but since the good stuff is with me, go ahead... see if I care.

2) I'm inside the resturant eating and the back of the truck is full of expensive stuff you could fence to by drugs but I'm sitting in a window seat watching so you would be really stupid to try.

YEah, I'm with you. The less attention the better. I haul around a lot of gear, and not all of it goes with me on a dive.

We have 3000 to 4000 divers in the area but only about 100 that dive locally and may 10 of us who are obsessed. I tend to question the committment to the sport of any diver that does not have at least 10 regs and at least that many tanks sitting around the house.

I have a vinyl scuba diver stuck on the back window and a scuba related licence plate holder on my vehicle. But that is light weight stuff done mostly by warm water divers (who never have dive gear in the car anyway.) Last summer my wife got mad and insisted I mow the lawn rather than go dive. So I added dive flag and "I'd rather be diving" to the back of the seat on our lawn tractor.
