Start here for a map of dive sites off Pompano and down to Ft. Lauderdale.

Here's a list of dive boats. A couple have web sites and post schedules, but it's best to call and see where they're going that day. Not all run during the week outside of season.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I was down in that neck of the woods a month ago, I don't know about the others (I'm sure most are as good, else they wouldn't last for long), but I was happy on Scubatyme. 8 AM and 1 PM two tank trips throughout the week I believe. No complaints, and was a welcome change from the 34 degree dry suit dives I did two weeks prior!

Just dove Pompano yesterday. It was ok, but I much prefer the diving in W. Palm Beach. We dove lost ledge. The water was 76 on the surface with a thermocline at 65 feet to 72 degrees, and another at 80 feet to 68 degrees.

ReefGuy,

What wetsuit were you using, and were you comfortable? I'm in Pompano this Saturday or Sunday for a 3 tank boat trip. A couple of days ago, the local buoy was giving water temp as 77.9F, but today it looks like it's dropped to 72F! Seems like a large change.

A front was going through as we were leaving last night (our coast got down to the 40s last night), so surface temps might be down, but it's supposed to warm up by the end of the week.

I was wearing a 3/3 John/Jacket with a hooded vest and was just fine (and I consider myself to chill easily).

I've been diving a few times in W. Palm the last month, and bottom temp has stayed pretty constant between 68-72.

Our dives on Saturday showed as 77° and 78° respectively at depth on my computer. We were fine in our 3mm suits.

Don't the buoys measure surface temperature? It's only 59° here as of noon today , so it may be affecting the surface temp readings.

High 80's are forecast for this coming weekend.
