Police interview boaties after diver run over
By Robyn Ironside

WATER police are investigating an alleged hit and run incident in Moreton Bay today that has left a man, 65, with serious leg and internal injuries.

The Brookfield man was diving with a friend at Yellow Patch near Flinders Reef when he was struck by a boat, about 12:15pm.

His friend helped him to safety and contacted water police as the vessel responsible continued on.

A doctor on board another boat provided medical treatment for the injured man until he was airlifted from Moreton Island to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Water police have since spoken to the three men on the boat involved and investigations are continuing.
