Thanks for checking out the site. It wouldn't have to be a very long boat ride. I've been canoeing from the light house park to the southeast corner of the point. It was not a big deal at all. An easy paddle along an accessible shore... Ever dove off out of a canoe?
I have, but I've always pulled the canoe onto shore and then conducted a shore dive. (This was to avoid a lengthy hike). It works pretty well, however depending on the distance, temperature and conditions, you may want to wait until you've pulled onto shore near your dive site to put your drysuit on. I tried paddling across a choppy lake against the wind on a cold, cloudy day once with my drysuit on, and ended up being soaked in sweat by the time I got to the dive site.
