Balance of Nature
I am a mighty apex predator,
Travelling the vastness of the oceans,
An ancient creature from pre-history,
Gliding through water with ease of motion,
Seen by some as the villain of the seas,
Demonised and misunderstood by humanity,
Famed for being a cold efficient killer,
Wrongly and unjustly seen as the enemy,
In truth my kind are the exploited,
Slaughtered in our millions for an Asian delicacy,
Cutting off our fins and leaving us to die,
A cruel, unsustainable practice is your legacy,
So yes, I am an apex predator,
I have a very important part to play,
Keeping the delicate balance of nature,
A healthier environment between predator and prey.
