This note will let you know what is on tap for the February meeting, provide additional information about up-coming trips, and provide info about some up-coming photo contests. Also, if you have a chance stop by Sisters in Everett and check out the photos that Mary Bess, Tim, and Dan have on display.
Several people have asked about posting pictures on the PNWUPS web site. If this is of interest to you, please drop me an e-mail to see if there is sufficient interest to scope out setting up photo pages for members.
If you are planning or thinking about on heading to Monterey, please see the note below about being invited to an Eric Cheng talk on Friday, April 9.
February Meeting
Drew Collins recently returned from some murky/surgy wreck diving in San Diego, along with a visit to Coronado Island. He will be sharing photos from the Coronado portion of the trip, and will hopefully go into more details about being swept over wrecks!
Pat and crew will be showing how post processing can make the images really "pop."
Dives & Travel
There are three dive/trip opportunities currently being planned:
March 6,7: Mike's Dive Resort on Hood Canal.
April 5-11: Monterey Bay Kelp Forest Critter Shoot
June 5-12: Bahamas Dolphin/Shark Photos Shoot
Mike's has rooms available from $70-$130 per night. We would plan on diving Saturday and Sunday, with a photo critique and dinner Saturday evening. If you are interested, please respond ASAP, as they will hold rooms until February 15.
The Monterey dive trip is coming together. We plan on meeting in Monterey late Sunday afternoon, April 4, and shore dive throughout the week. See last month's bulleting for more details. As an added bonus, we have been invited to the Northern California Underwater Photographic Society meeting on Friday, April 9 in Millbrae (near San Francisco International Airport. Renowned underwater photographer Eric Cheng (Wetpixel) will be speaking.
The last outing is a dolphin/reef shark photo shoot out of Freeport in the Bahamas. This is where Stephen Frink has taken some absolutely stunning dolphin shots.

PNWUPS meetings are held 2:00 PM, the second Sunday of each month, in the meeting room at Sean ODonnells Restaurant, 122 128th St SE, Everett 98208, 425.338.5700.
