Hello Everyone,

I am considering a trip to PNG to either Kimbe Bay or Milne Bay (Walindi and Tawali and the respective liveaboards that leave from both resorts).

After spending a considerable amount of time reading the scuba board threads on both locations and the resorts/LOB's I have yet to discern if there is a clear advantage (specifically better and more varied diving) of one location vs. the other.

I would love for anyone to share thoughts/feedback/experience, especially if any folks here have dived both areas. If weather makes a difference based on time of year for these locations, I would be there in mid-late December.

Thanks in advance!
-Phil

We have done both though Milne was quite awhile ago. Milne is a little more about Macro with a few more sharks in Kimbe. If we were to go back I would say it would be Kimbe on one of the live-aboards. You can see trip reports, slide shows, etc. at our site Aquablue Dreams

Hi Mjh, thank you very much for the info, checking out the site now...

I have been trying to figure out the same thing.
Sometimes i think this forum only ,makes it harder to make a choice:shakehead:
When are you going? and have you made a choice yet?

I checked with Neill Ghosh of Original Diving about the same question. He is a local agent for PNG diving and he had no hesitation to say that Kimbe Bay offered significantly better and more varied diving than Milne Bay

After reading for a couple of weeks, I booked on the MV Febrina last week. It sails out of Walindi resort in Kimbe bay.
