Anyone have a suggestion for a site in or around Plymouth or Cape Cod for a good shore dive? Something with a chance at pulling out a bug or two would be great, but all suggestions welcome. I'm taking the wife and kids out on a day trip and want to sneak in a dive. Thank You.

I assume the family outing is a beach day. Two South Shore spots I've dived that are decent, with good beaches for the family, are Warren's Cove in Plymouth (call Bert's Cove Restaurant in Plymouth and ask for directions, it's right there), and Brant Rock in Marshfield (Route 139 to Marshfield, It's on Ocean Ave, keep going until you see a sea wall). Heard about, but never dove at Minot Beach in Scituate, best spot is around the big rock islands at the North end. Parking at all three might involve getting ticketed. I pay $25.00 a day to park in Boston, so a $15.00 (?) ticket is no big deal.
On the Cape, I've heard good things about Sandwich Town Beach. Don't know much more about it. Look here for not so detailed info.

Given ample parking($10), ease of dive entry/exit and fun for the kids on shore--marsh and boardwalk behind beach, I'd go with STB. The only reservation I might have is the newly dumped sand on the beach. I have not been there yet this year, but my bro and I are diving there is Sunday and I will report.

I heard they're giving away Trident catch bags too! ;)

Sandwich Town Beach is a nice dive. The walk from the parking lot can be a little tough for us old folks but it's a great beach for the family, even has a bathroom.

Depths are 20 to 25 feet and there are bugs to be had. There is even an old tugboat wreck right off the beach.

I'll be doing a boat dive there myself tomorrow.

If Stu and I find your catch bag while return it to you...empty of course!

Did 2 dives there today. Water temp 65 on first dive then 54 on second!! Vis was avout 10 feet, nothing great.

Did get 6 keepers, wish I had a pole spear, there were more flounder then I've ever seen

Just talked my buddy into Brant Rock for the AM. Hmmmmm, shall I just read the map wrong and end up at STB instead? 6 keepers is better than my year to date total.

Just got back from Brant Rock. Wife and Kids were rained out, but the dive was great. I'll have to try STB next week. Plenty of bugs but no keepers today. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Thanks for all the input.
