Can anyone help me identify this regulator by Dacor? It has swivels on both sides and the main body swivels as well. I wanted to hook up the low pressure inflator line to it but the low pressure port is too big for my hose fitting.

Thanks

That's an Extreme Plus first stage by Dacor. LP ports are 1/2" and you can either get a hose with a 1/2" fitting or an adapter that will reduce the size from 1/2" to 3/8". Dacor used to sell hoses either with a 1/2" fitting but then to cut costs went to the adapter that was included with a BCD purchase. I have many of both in stock at www.scubaprepairexpress.com if you can't find something else. Good diving!

I second that... It's the Extreme Plus first stage from Dacor. I used to own that reg for 13+ years.

Excellent, thanks. I also need to hook gauges up to it also, Would I need the same size adapter fitting? I clicked on your link but it would not open for me.

Don't know what's wrong with my link...have to get working on that. To your question. You shouldn't need an adapter on your High Pressure port as that is a 7/16" port which is pretty standard for HP hoses. There are some really old hoses that use a 3/8" port but most "modern" HP hoses are a standard 7/16". I also have quite a supply of service parts and spare modules for that model reg if you need to get it serviced. If you haven't already had it checked out, you should have a diagnostic run on it to make sure it's working alright. Don't fall for the "you need to get it serviced but there are no parts available"...BS. It's a good performing reg. Good Diving!

Great, I'm going to send it to you to be checked out.

Thanks!:D

Not only is it crazy-looking, it's put together unlike any other regs I've ever seen. Believe it or not, it's a balanced diaphragm reg but the diaphragm and the HP side of the reg are in a cylinder that's concentric to the outer case. So no, it doesn't have two separate LP sections. It just looks like it does.

I think it's a damn good regulator (never dove one--just serviced them) but they're no longer supported by the manufacturer, Head/Mares. Of course, the o-rings are pretty much standard but the poppets and seats are what's unique and what will eventually be no longer available.

In my experience of owning this reg for 13+ years, I can say that it was a great breathing reg at any depth. I never once had a problem with the reg. Many people didn't like it because it was an overcomplicated design. I didn't get into the design of it, and how this reg worked, I just know that it worked, and it worked really well for me. I would still be diving with the reg, but my lds had run out of kits for it.
