I have a Sherwood Avid BCD and I also purchased the Akona Pro Kit ( I know...its pricy!)Anyways, I'm not able to unscrew the pins attached to the tabs on the BCD in order to install the knife. Has anyone else had this problem...any sugestions. Thanks

I don't have the pro kit, but I do have a Genesis BC with what are probably the same pins.

One of the ends of the pin will screw into the other and since there is less friction on it as it does not have to turn within the nylon strap it is easier to unscrew. So I'd try unscrewing each side of the pin in turn and go with the one that is easiest.

If you can't get them unscrewed, it may be because they are stripped out. It is just a nylon screw set, after all.

You can head back into your local dealer and if they don't have a few in stock, they can get you some (they generally get sent out for free) from the technical support people at Sherwood.

With those in hand you can just cut the heads off and replace them.

This may be a little late. I don't know if you've had any success unscrewing them. I too had a little problem trying to unscrew those fasteners on my Freedom when trying to hook up the Akona Pro kit. What I found out was to unscrew them without pushing on them too hard. I found out that if I pushed in both ends while unscrewing, I was basically pushing the two pieces back together thereby negating all my previous efforts. By accident, I was mindlessly turning the screws without pushing on them and they just started popping out. Hope this helps if you still haven't had any success.
