Greetings All,

My name is Bill Koller and for the last 12 years I have lived on Soliman Bay in Tulum Mexico, land of Cenote Diving and Trips to Cozumel. I made my first dive to scrape boat bottoms when I worked at the Stamford Yacht Club in Stamford Connecticut as a Launch Captain in 1962 (yes kids 1962).

I founded Soliman Bay and built the first house here when there was no road, Casa Playa Maya. Since then I have expended and the beach house on a perfect snorkel Bay protected by the Meso-American Reef into 4 bedrooms and a loft and I rent the Great House and Casitas and I live in the back in a cardboard box. Well close to it. I often host Dive groups who want either Caribbean Diving and Cozumel or our specialty, Cenotes! We are just tow miles from the Dos Ojos System. In fact just now I have 19 divers from Lotz Poland here having a ball!

I like to take week or 10 night dive Boats but being a single I never know who I'll wind up with as a roommate. I often go to Belize (I can Drive there from here) and am planning on the Galapagos this year.

That's all for now. Anyne in the Tulum Area call me at 984 128 0037 and we can get together or I can give you local tips. I am delighted to be a part of these forums y Happy Diving!

Hola!

Bienvenido a SB.

I was in your neck of the woods last year. Stayed in Akumal and dove the cenotes and local reef for a week. Great time. The cenotes and ruins in the area were the highlights.

Look forward to reading your posts on all things Tulum.

Yeah PH, 84 F and sunny today and I saw an Octopus, a Green Turtle and a family of samm squid family today on Soliman Bay, together with the usual reef fish, rays and barracuda.

How goes Michigan?

It is chilly up here and all the lakes are frozen over. I don't mind diving dry the rest of the year, but I'm not into chopping a hole in the ice to take a dive.

Luckly I will be in MX 4/11-4/18. Can't wait.

Good luck with your resort and be safe.

Yes again today it is 62F and sunny. I had 19 adult divers from a Dive Club in Lotz Poland arrive last night. They are very excited and start their dives tomorrow in the cenotes, then I have Deal with Aldora Divers of Cozumel on COZ for two tank 80 Steel tank dives with gas off for beach lunch and ferry pick up all in one day. Leave on early ferry , back by cocktails!

I would not be shopping ice to dive. Too ole for that. My 3 MM shorty is all I need in the Sea and I borrow a 5 mm full for the cenotes.

Have a great vacation ...where are you staying?
