Playa del Carmen or Akumal Diving

I have to say, the night dives we did on Cozumel were the best dives of our entire trip. There was SO much life that was out and moving around in the dark, that we didn't see in the daytime. I might feel very differently about Akumal diving, had I done it at night.

I've dove both and agree with the others. The ocean diving is the same. But if you have any desire to dive the cenotes or see Tulum or Coba, then Akumal is a better location.

Just got back from a week in PDC and have been there before. I didn't go there primarily for diving and knew mostly what to expect.

The reef diving there is maybe a 3 out of 10. I recommend the Cenotes which I only did once.

The other thing I didn't like about PDC reef diving is the sites I went to were all flat so if you need to go up a little to avoid deco you're just sorta floating somewhere between the surface and the bottom twiddling your thumbs...
