I got this Sequest predator for 5$ at a flea market, it holds air just fine except for the power inflator, which I am replacing.
The other oddity: someone took the plastic plate off of the back.
Any suggestions for fixing this?

The replacement power inflator I got for free because it was in a 'busted parts' bin. I want to take it apart, inspect it, and if possible put it back together.
It's an older Dive-Rite inflator, same as my 90's Dive rite Rec wings.
If anyone has disassembly instructions or a picture of the thing apart, I would find it most usefull.

edit: Tested the power inflator and it works fine, stuck a bit at first, which I am not comfortable with. Going to see what I can do towards taking it apart blind.

edit2: Got the button with the screw-type ring used for adding air out.
Just needs a good cleaning and I think this will be serviceable, though I'd like to figure out the other button and clean it thile i'm at it

Hey Anony:

I am not sure which inflator you have but here is a video from DSS about theirs. While it may not be the same inflator, you might get an idea of what disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly entails. I got my o-rings from AOPTec and all is good for me! Of course I own a DSS BP/W. I hope this helps.

With kind regards,
Thomas

Is the entire hard pack gone? I have the same BC and the hard pack broke down completely and I discarded it. I replaced it with a scuba pro back pack which has two pieces that can be used to sandwich the Bc itself. I have used the BC like that a few hundred times and it works well.

I also removed the cummerbund and replaced it with a normal nylon belt waist strap and buckle which is routed through the backpack and the strap loops through the bc itself.

Is that comfortable? I have a few old sandwich-style hardpacks on ancient TUSA and Scubapro bcs, but I tried them on today and they werent very comfortable.

Do you have any pictures of that setup?

Re: the power inflator
The SeaQuest one is Kaput due to the silly button. The nice Dive-Rite one I got on the cheap needs 2 new O-rings. I am going to swing by the shop tomorrow and see if they have the rings I need. I'd sure like to be able to give them some cash.
