Wasn't the movie about a horse? The title suggests that it would have something to do with the ocean, but alas...

I like your fresh profile pic... It's very cool to see who people are. It helps to place a face with the posts...

Where in NJ? I lived for years in a tiny town called Indian Mills, which is now just "Shamong." It was near Medford and Medford Lakes, not far from Cherry Hill.

I spent many weekends four-wheelin' in the Pine Barrens... And many nights dancin' my tail off in Philly. :D

As a child I spent a little time in Summit, too. My grandparents lived there.

Argh! :pirate:

I'm across from New Hope, Pa, right on the Delaware river.

And Yes, Seabiscuit was about a horse, named, strangely enough, Seabiscuit. :D A true story, and a good one at that.

I bought my dog there... A dalmation... Named, strangely enough, Spot. :D Yes, it's true. Sick sense of humor, eh?

I bought him from Dr. Seuss Dalmations... Right in New Hope, if I recall correctly.

The owner of the establishment was a complete fruitcake. I do remember that. :D

Very pretty area...

Is it possible to dive the Delaware that far up, or is everything really shallow? Do you get the opportunity to dive Dutch Springs ever?

Yeah, SeaJay, I'm surprised you of all people have to ask. It's possible to dive ANYWHERE there's water, ya big silly! :out:
I see people, presumably treasure-hunters, with tanks on in literally two feet of water, near the bridges that cross the river. I guess people throw cool stuff out of their cars on a regular basis!
I have been in the river with a tank, it's too tempting to look out onto the water knowing my gear is a mere 20 feet away...But it's better to snorkel, since it's about 8 or 9' feet deep in my area, tops, mostly much shallower.
There's interesting stuff to see, and contrary to popular belief, no dead bodies or garbage or shopping carts! Lots and lots of whitecloud minnows, and big (BIG!) ugly-lookin' catfish, and shad in the early summer, (they're a big silvery herring), and some crayfish, big, mean snapping turtles, and smallmouth bass. And for the past few years, a large family of beavers has lived on the bank right on my property, (their lodge is quite the feat of construction), although I have never been able to catch them swimming while I was underwater.
And yes, I do get to DS occasionally, it's about an hour and a quarter from here.
Yes, you are right indeed, it is a pretty area. I am lucky to live here. :)
