Hey all,

Need some help. I'm trying to plan a trip for August. 1-2 weeks. I'm from Philly and so ease of transport is a factor for my dive buddy though i'm willing to go whereever really. I'm an avid shark diver so I'm looking for Tiger Sharks and Mako Sharks, which i havent seen yet. My dive buddy wants to just hit up grand cayman again, which of course is great diving, but i feel like i've been there and done that.

Besides sharks, my dive buddy and i are primarily reef divers although wreck dives are fun for kicks. I've dove Cape Town, Protea Banks, Gansbaii (South Africa), Tofu (Mozambique), Grand Cayman, Hawaii. I guess that's just for comparison.

I to Cabo last Aug. We liked the diving alot. There isnt much in the way of reef but the diving was good none the less.

Hello SafetyStopBait, welcome to SB!

My suggestion to you is; save the travel expense, spend it on diving. Stay in the country and dive Florida! Maybe you could do a week on a liveaboard then a week in the Keys......

OK, so I've never been diving outside the United States. Still, Florida has some awesome diving and who wouldn't love a week on a liveaboard?!!!!

EDIT: Just a couple of links to check out some liveaboards:

The closest sharks to Philly are "in Philly"... HA HA ...

Anyhow kidding aside, if you want reefs and sharks - something in the Bahamas is your best bet. Look at the NW itentary for Nekton www.nektoncruises.com

or the Explorer Ventures I liveaboard.
