There was a lake called lake gibb that I did my check out dives in 2001. I'm not sure if anyone still dives it but LDC did.

Shore dive the OBX. You have to hit it at the right time. The wrecks have some interesting history and there a couple fairly close togather that you can hit for a first and second dive.
 
I have never dove there, but during a few times fishing before I was certified to dive, I recorded depths over 100'.
