place to buy clips?

Is there any retail chain that sells plastic or brass clips that can be used for scuba? Looking for cheaper alternatives to the LDS. Thanks...

Home Depot and Lowe's have clips that are marked "stainless steel," and I've had the springs rust. I have some Home Depot brass clips for hanging gear out to dry, but haven't had them in the water.

As Spectrum mentioned, a Marine supply store will likely have the real deal.

Online, I've purchased many clips from Reef Scuba Accessories.

I've used the brass and stainless ones from Home Depot and haven't had any rust yet. Might be the luck of the draw.

Price shop at the Marine stores. I have seen clips/rings be VERY pricey at some local Marine shops. I have actually gotten better pricing form the LDS in many cases. The Lowe's/Home Depot things have worked well for me. I have no problem buying 2 at $3 each over 1 at $15. I have had mixed results from the Lowe/HD option. The clips have held up well enough, the rings tarnish but hold up well. The Lowe's in my area have a marine section that were priced nearly 30% of the Marine shop 1/4 mile away....

Mind you some specialized Marine clips are just frigign' GREAT to have though - eg my float clip came from a Marine Shop and I had to drop near $50 on it, but that thing is built rock solid. And I cannot allow my float to snap off and float away...

I would avoid Home depot for clips if you plan on salt water diving as you will just end up replacing the rusting things. Try an online dive store for good prices.
