We are heading back to one of our favorite dive places in Romblon this spring (Sunset Cove on Alad Island near Romblon town), and because AirSWIFT is no longer flying to Tablas, we are looking for a tie-in location off the beaten path to explore on the way. Maybe. Always looking for new places. ;-)

There is a small place with 15 or so rooms & bungalows south of Santa Fe, Tablas called Pili Beach Beach Resort (in barangay Agmanic) which has a dive operation called Pili Divers. The beach at the resort is facing toward Carabao Island (San Jose). Searched the SB Forums. Not much out on the Interwebs about diving there, but a few reports I have seen elsewhere say there is very good macro photography close by, as well as during shore dives, and that the shop also runs dive trips to Carabao Island sites.

Room prices look fairly reasonable, and there is a range of room types, two pools (a new one for dive training, I think), and both a small onsite restaurant, and bar. We are thinking of flying into Caticlan (Boracay) on the way to Alad Island, and then transiting by boat over to Tablas on our way to Sunset Cove instead of taking the Batangas Starlite overnight ferry to Romblon town. Then, afterwards take the ferry back, or vice versa.

Anyone have experience with this resort, or diving in this area? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Here is a location map...Boracay is in Aklan Province, and has a busy airport in Caticlan, but both Carabao and Tablas to the north are in Romblon Province. Romblon Island is part of that province, and Romblon town is the capital of the province itself. ;-) With flights to Tablas halted for at least the near term future, most travel now has to involve ferries, or flights into and out of either Caticlan or Roxas City.
