I'm processing my film (yes, film) from my vacation and I thought I'd post this. I'd love any comments. I rather like the shot. It was taken at Eagle Ray Pass in Grand Cayman at around 70 ft.

Diver Dennis:
Very nice. What camera and housing?

Sea & Sea MX10. I'm still very new to UW photography and in fact to diving, so your comments are helpful and encouraging. I think this was my dive #18. I have a long way to go. My pics this year seem to be much better than last year. I'll post a Gallery when I get them all done, but I rather liked this one. Very moody. Kind of shows how it felt. Vast Deep Blue Nothing. So I thought I'd share.

And thanks, cool picture.

Woulda been better with your standard "hot chick" for a model/subject. Trip mighta' been more fun for you, too. That, and try a vertical format shot.

Did I mention the thing about a hot chick? Hot chicks dig Cayman.

Fresh out of "hot chicks" on this dive. I booked through the cruise ship and, believe it or not, there were only 3 of us on the boat (besides crew). The mass of people went other places. I think it's because it was listed as an "Advanced Dive", we made 110'.

Gotta go with what you got. Anyway, I can pretend it's me. I don't remotely resemble a "hot chick."

Following your suggestion, I took a look at it in vertical format. It may work if it was a "hot chick" because it constrains the diver and bubbles, but I think what I really like about the picture is the expanse of "nothing". I posted this in the Gallery and named it "Solace" because it looks so free and peaceful.

On the other hand, vertical works too.

What do you think?

What I think is what the industry knows. Always take a horizontal, always take a vertical.

Horizontals are for calendars, Verticals are for magazine covers.

Always take both!

(I see you met Dee and other photo-bugs on a different forum!)
