Several people have e-mailed and asked for pictures of the reef because of the stories they are hearing...I went diving Saturday and took some pictures of just the reef to share. These were taken at a site very far south (a/k/a "Christi's Happy Place" and Palancar Gardens on Saturday, February 18, 2006.

You'll see that the reef is still very healthy! These photos were not enhanced in any way...the only thing I did was resize them for posting.

Love the photos. Glad you have a happy place. For me, the entire island is my happy place.

Thanks Christi. Excellent pictures. Makes me feel much warmer up here in this 30 deg, drizzly weather.

Christi didn't have the camera on at one point, or you all would have a great shot of an eagle ray. My camera flooded on Thur. so I lost everything.
Thanks again Christi for the dives Friday and Sat.

Christi,

Thanks for sharing the great images. They reminded me of a wonderful dive that your famous DM, Pedro, lead us on during our recent trip to Cozumel 3-10 February.

Here is a healthy reef image plus an Anemone that I captured during that trip. This was my first attempt at u/w photography, so I'm sure that I did not do the reef justice.... Just resized, not touched up.

As soon as I get caught up from taking a week off, I'll post a report with more images. In the meantime, thanks again for helping Lydia and I find the magic in Cozumel that made our trip so memorable.

WOW...not bad at all for your first try Geryl! Very nice!

Hope to see you guys again soon!

yup, that does look like a very healthy reef! Is that Coz, post hurricane?...sorry, I see now it is.

Nice pics - and i wish i had seen something like that when i was there. ( 2weeks ago) I suspect that now more than ever divers will have to be selective about what reefs the ops take them too.
