Finally got around to uploading my pics from a recent liveaboard trip to the Similan Islands and some other islands off of Phuket over the Christmas/ New Years season.

album is in my SB gallery at the following link...

Equipment: Canon S70+Inon D-2000+inon macro lens and borrowed inon dome WA lens...

Manta's and Leopard sharks... oooh why did I leave my WA dome lense onboard!! :06: dang shutter lag chopped off the shark's nose...oooh... Also half my manta shots were tossaways as I had my strobe on a wrong setting and it was misfiring... double doooh....

Hey Pakman, which liveaboard did you do? Great Manta shot, you were very lucky to see them, I spent 10 days on a liveaboard there last year and only saw one, that was very, very far away.

midwestdvr:
Awesome pics. Too bad about the strobe misfires and forgetting the WAL. Was the dome that big you couldn't carry it underwater? Once again, great pics.

Midwestdvr... actually the WAL dome was my friend's which he was kindly letting me use during the trip when he was doing video. I guess I was so disappointed in not seeing any manta's on our first day of diving in that area that I left the WAL on the boat the morning we got the manta show!! dooh! As for the strobe misfire on what would have been some great close up headon shots, I forgot I had been toying with my strobe months earlier and for some strange reason had the Inon strobe set for a camera that doesn't use preflash. The Canon S70 does have a preflash so you can image what was happening!

Incredible footage! I love it!

thanks KidK9 for the complements... I'm still learning something new every trip with this camera setup and probably only grasping only a fraction of its potential... AS they say the camera's as good as the photographer behind it... In reality my keepers to tossaways ratio is still very high!!! gotta improve on that... ;)
