Join Mike Veitch and Simon Buxton on a Journey to Eastern Indonesia aboard the newest addition to the ranks of Indonesian Liveaboards, Dive Damai!
We are offering two trips on this luxurious new liveaboard in 2010, one is to the world famous Raja Ampat and Triton Bay area of West Papua and the second is a mix of Raja Ampat and the relatively unexplored area of Halmahera.
(2 spots still available) 16-28 March 2010: The boat will depart from Kaimana exploring the wonderful Triton Bay area with its plethora of fish and invertebrate life. The itinerary will take time to explore all of the famous spots in the area as well as looking for new areas to dive. This trip will end in Sorong.
(4 spots still available) 30 March-11 April 2010: The boat will depart from Sorong and explore many new and interesting place on the its way North West to the relatively unexplored areas of Halmahera. With 12 days of cruising we will be able to visit many of the tried and true dive sites of the area as well as trying our luck in looking for the next garden of eden. This trip will finish in the port of Ternate, Halmahera.
Both of these exciting trips will feature informal presentations in the evening by Mike and Simon about underwater photography and videography. Mike and Simon will also be available throughout the trip to answer any and all underwater imaging questions you may have.
The beauty of the Dive Damai system is Freedom. The boat features 4 large and spacious cabins catering to just 8 divers plus your hosts. An open dive plan, meals when you want them, and free nitrox are just the tip of the iceberg for this custom built Phinisi, designed and built for discerning divers and photographers.
Our plan is to spend enough time at each location to fully explore the photographic opportunities it provides. We will not be pushing from location to location in order to explore every dive site possible. If we like a particular spot we will stay there! If we dont like a site, we will move on to the next. The beauty of travelling with such a small group is it will be very easy to make decisions on what we want to see and when we would like to see it.
The boat features many extras that will make you feel at home and truly enhance your onboard experience:
- Individual camera stations with a personal rinse tank
- 3 tenders and 4 dive guides for 8 divers, no big groups!
- On call chefs ready to make you a tasty snack at any time of the day
- 32% and 36% nitrox at no extra charge
- Large cabins with two queen or 1 king size bed, only 4 guest cabins for a maximum of 8 guests
-
