Hi - this is my intro....
I am a "vacation diver" in Vancouver, Canada. I've logged about 80 or 90 dives - have to check my logbook when I get home. Currently I'm in Whister, BC for a ski weekend.
I've done ALL of my diving in Asia with the exception of a couple of dives in Hawaii.
I like warm water and tropical environments although I will eventually do some diving in our famous local waters.
The Philippines so far is my favorite spot due to the low cost and the great dives plus the many friends I've made while diving. I've also enjoyed diving in Thailand and Vietnam although there doesn't seem to be many "big" fish left in Vietnam (Nha Trang).
The most fun I had was in Padre Burgos, Letye with a crazy divemaster and also in Puerto Galera at VIP Dive. I enjoyed VIP Dive so much that I made them an animated video and posted on YouTube called "Dive VIP Sabang Puerto Galera Philippines".
I hope to encourage more people to dive in the Philippines since the diving community has really helped the locals and the environment. Some really awful practices such as dynamite fishing and cyanide poisoning have been stopped or restricted as the local population becomes more dependent on diving revenue than fishing.
I hope you find and check out my video - I'm hoping it goes viral and starts opens up some more diving tourism for the Philippines.
