Naming inanimate objects is such a chick thing. I know many girls that give their cars a name.;)
On the one hand, I'd note that J. named her car (which, sadly, was left behind and sold when she went to work in Japan). On the other hand, I'd also note that if I *ever* used the words "chick" or "girl" to refer to J., she'd rightfully beat the living daylights out of me (or worse).

Oh man, you are right. So for further clarification any references I made using the pejorative term chick or girl is really meant in a positive way. So for reference chick/girl = most lovely woman.:D (Marian might read this and I'll be in trouble!)

I have not named my gear but I do ride the 'beast' (my UV-26 scooter) often and hug my meg regularly

Have to give this some thought...my cars have always had names (something I inherited from my folks, I guess, since they always named their cars)...but I would have to shy away from "Hal" (2001: A Space Odessy) or "Mother" (Alien) for the dive computer...wouldn't want to give the machine any ideas! :11:

Huh .....??

Yeah, I noticed that- guys only name their cars in the movies.

I hugged my drysuit after I returned from a warm water trip to Mexico. :dork2:

(still waiting for "Rosebud!" or something of the sort )

I was thinking to name my wing Oxycheq, oh, wait, how convenient.

One of the early vehicles I drove was a blue VW van - named "Babe, the Big Blue Box" (Both of which - the van and the name - probably reveal my approximate age :D)

Somehow my scuba gear doesn't seem to be hankering for a name. Heck, my guinea pig and rabbit have been waiting for years for real names - and they move and have personalities. Formally, they are "Mr. Nibbles" and "Winnie" but it's been a long time since they were called anything but pig or rabbit.

My younger cat is named "Satai Mayan" (she goes by "Mai" or "Mai-Mai"). My older cat is officially "Shadowbear", but she generally goes by... "girl".
