Dive shop in Pemuteran : Sea Rovers without any doubt.
I really like Paul's pirate fantasy and besides being a jolly good fellow, the service is there.
They were located before inside Adi Assri hotel, I think they have their own shop very nearby now.

Why don't you go stay in Padang Bai for macro? better than Pemuteran, if you ask me!

We used Sea Rovers in 2016, on a Bali safari that included Liberty Dive Resort and somewhere else I can't recall. Anyway, Sea Rovers had their own shop even then.

Most dives we did with Sea Rovers were not what I would call macro-intensive. The most macro-intensive diving was right in front of Sea Rovers, in the garbage-strewn cove. It was actually a cool little dive, and we did it more than once. We tried to coax Paul into taking us farther afield for a macro adventure, but for whatever reason he seemed reluctant at the time. Things change. Who knows.

HI Wisnu, I want to extend my trip as I have been out of the water too long. Any suggestions for an alternate spot in Bali? I have done Padang bai a couple of times.

Correction, the 17C dive was at secret bay Gilimanuk, not Puri jati (near Lovina).
For macro in Bali I will stick to Tulamben area and Padang Bai. There's plenty dive site in both area for one week not visiting the same spot.

Everything in Padang Bai is macro. There are many, many sites. You can also schedule dives outside of the bay for blue water/big stuff or day trip across to Nusa Penia/Lembongan.

Amed could be my #3 choice for Macro after Tulamben and Padang Bai : they have a site here in one dive we spotted 13 harlequin shrimps (6 couples and a loser who didn't score that day).
Also the Japanese wreck can be a wonderful site for macro at night!

i have been to pemuteran only once in 2008 .. the first of many visits to bali ... i relied on a diving center with turtle recovery center .. the only thing i remember besides turtles is a wonderful greek restaurant ... we had a good time but never returned preferring other diving areas

There's two jetty in Padangbai. First the jetty tanah ampo, this is what people here talk about.
The second is Pertamina jetty, the first jetty you see on the way to tanah ampo.
I never dive here, but a good friend told me this jetty is even more crowded with critters.
But when he surfaced, two military guards pointed their gun to his head, and they interrogated for whole day.
No more dive guide will bring you there.

Fully agree with the recommendation to do Padang Bai, the jetty is fantastic and there are many more sites. We have also had great luck with mantas on day trips across to the Nusa islands.
