For me the wrecks and reefs off Key Largo still hold enough fascination to provide the perfect week of diving... In fact, that's what I'm hoping to have down there in mid-September! U.S.S. Duane, Bibb, Spiegel Grove, Mike's Wreck, Benwood, deep dive, reef dives, wreck dives, night dives...who could ask for more?!

A week on the Truk Odyssey. During deep week.

(the week excludes travel time, right?)

If it wasn't so darn long a flight it would be Truk Lagoon.

From LI? Take a direct flight on Saturday morning from Newark to Belize. You can be on the dive deck of the Belize Aggressor by 2:30 setting up your tank. 20 dives later, on Friday night, you'll be back ashore, and home on Saturday night.

From Hong Kong? I haven't had a week off yet since I've been here, but the 4 and 5 day weekends in Bali have been nice. Logistics to places like Lembeh seem to be better from Singapore.

Forgetting logistics for the moment, the best 7 days of diving I've ever done were on a 10-day trip to Cocos island.

Diving the Cenotes in Cozumel... or diving anywhere that gets me out of Utah for a week would be ideal.

My perfect week of diving would be cave diving in the Yucatan, with several days of guiding to places I wouldn't know about or be able to get into otherwise, and with a sherpa to haul my gear to the water :)

For open water, I'd magically make the MV Tala a little bigger and more luxurious, with gourmet food, but the same crew and equipment, and transport it to North Vancouver Island . . . on a week when the weather was beautiful and the tidal exchanges were sweet.

A liveaboard, maximum 8 divers, at Cocos Island, Costa Rica or Alor, Indonesia. Minimum 4 dives a day. My camera outfit doen't fail. Free beer!
