Ahoy there,

I'm planning to buy a small underwater flash light powered by 4 AA Alkalines with Xenon bulbs and I'm choosing between these two brands.

Pelican Stealthlite 2400 submersible light
-powered by 4 AA Alkaline batteries
-produces 25 lumens using a Xenon bulb

Underwater Kinetics Q40,
-powered by 4 AA Alkaline batteries
-produces 50 lumens using a Xenon bulb

Occasionally you may find yourself wanting to do something underwater that requires a flashlight and both hands. Spearfishing or cruising for lobster at night comes to mind.....

The UK Q40 can be snapped onto your mask strap at such times. Dunno if the Pelican comes with the same ability. One thing to ponder...

After 15 years in the industry selling both lights (which are good and have comparable warranties) i'd choose the uk. I've seen many people have to use the warranty more frequently on the pelican lights.

I've got the Q40 eled and very happy with it! Honnestly, unless you have specific reasons not to go LED, I'd get a LED light. The difference is impressive, not to mention longer brun times.

Luego!
