I am off to Fiji in 5 weeks for a week of liveaboard diving on the MV Island Dancer. The following is the most likely dive map, with possible slight local variations.

What is the likelihood of seeing pelagics and if so what kind are most likely?

Hi Hintermann,
Our Dive Resort/Shop is located on the Northern Tip of the main island Viti Levu and we dive the Bligh Water area same as the Naia Liveaboard and occasionally see the Dancer boat as well. If your itinerary does involve diving our reefs then you have a good chance to see pelagics during your trip. Through out the year we see schooling Jacks, White Tip Reef Sharks, Grey Reef sharks and over the past few months we have been seeing more and bigger schools of Chevron and Pickhandle Barracuda as well as an increase in Eagles Ray visits and off one site Hammerhead sharks.

You can visit our website for more specific dive site information (link to it is in our signature) as we have a nice list of some of our more popular sights but SB won't let me place a direct link to it. It's under the page for Bligh Water Dive Sites.

Moce (Fijian for good-bye),

Have a great trip and enjoy the amazing underwater rainbow colors of our reefs.
