Pelagian Rebreather

I just completed a Pelagian Rebreather course in Jordan with Mark Ellyatt. The unit is a pleasure to use compared with ALL the others I have tried in the past, is very versatile, easy to travel with and safe with proper training as DCCCR like the Kiss.

Im saving my pennies to order a unit so I'm still diving on my Dolphin SCR at the moment.

Above pic is my friend George with a large tank on my Dolphin unit and me on the right with 2 x S63s on the pelagian - this is the beauty of the unit you can use whatever tanks are available!

I looked at that unit. How did you like the lungs, they are somewhat unique.

The lungs are one of the things that make the unit easy to swim with, no need to add weight to the top of the unit. I was doing somersaults and flips all over the place! Much easier than with my Dolphin SCR. Very easy WOB in all positions. The way they attach to your harness is nice as well.

I am seriously thinking of getting this unit over a Kiss Classic. The only thing prolonging me is the that its a relatively new brand/company compared to Jetsam. But it is indeed a classic made better. Roger Ingebo dove the unit to 120m on the princess of the orient 2 weeks ago here in the Philippines.

I have been very intrigued with the needle valve witch is unique to the Pelagian. It allows you to change the o2 flow rate on the fly and is why it can come stock with a depth compensating first stage, which eliminates the depth limitation typical of most mCCR's.

overall it has a several brilliant and unique features, which are somewhat ahead of their time! IMHO.

Wow! Cool looking unit. I'll do some more reading later...but anyone know how many of these units are out there?

from what I found out from Andy F., I believe 60+ units now and growing. He has relieve himself of his dive shop to focus on the manufacture of the Pelagian.
