Just seeing that picture of Ginnie - anybody been to Peacock lately? Is it even still there? Last I heard it was drying up - but that was years ago....

In January the water level was quite low - about 3-4 ft below the steps with almost no run. Currently the basin is up to the second or third step and is basically normal.

Viz in the cavern and cave zones is not stellar but it is not bad either - maybe 30-40 ft. The water itself is clear but there are still some suspended particles from recent river intrusion.

Orange Grove is entirely covered in duckweed but the water level is back up to the second or third step. There is very little flow and the basin is very green with low viz and it is quite dark by the time you reach the cavern. Once inside past the monkey bars, the viz is fine.

Thanx - I remember years ago we would follow the run and the bottom was littered with little fossilized sand-dollars - weird looking little things - I still have a few... shame to hear it's so low. We used to camp right next to the basin and dive night and day...

Peacock basin was blue sunday, and had 30-50ft viz. Cave was 50+ft down the peanut crossover, and pothole tunnels.
