Hello all,

I have done my open water certification with PADI and recently learned of a school in my area that teaches Advanced Open Water but they are PDIC certified. Does anyone who about them? Is there advanced equivalent to the the PADI one? Does PADI recognize their certification if I want to continue with PADI after?

Thanks

Edward

Professional Diving Instructors Corporation (PDIC) is one of the many agencies recognized by NAUI. Most likely PADI recognizes PDIC also. PDIC should have a website that you may be able to get some info about course content.

PDIC is a smaller agency, but generally pretty well regarded. They do some specialty training (different types of search & rescue, various courses for law enforcement). All things considered, if the specific group in your area teaches a good course, you might well gain a lot from their approach. As for recognition, its a well known agency within the industry.

Yes, they do. But be aware that cert levels are not equal across agencies.

Is there any advantage to taking instruction from this school other than location? Remember, the Instructor is the most important element of ANY dive education.
