hi, i know there are threads already for this subject, didn't know whether to add to them or start afresh.......
i'm a beginner and after recommendations for dive schools in patong, phuket - i found a list on the PADI site and mailed a number of them, three replied and have replied promptly to supplementary questions: Santana Diving, Scuba Cat and Warm Water Divers. I've seen Scuba Cat and Warm Water mentioned in some of the Asian threads, i wondered if any posters had positive / negative comments about any of these.
thanks
neekolas

WWD does have their own boat, so they book you on whichever boat is available/cheapest, which can be good or bad. Scubacat has their own boat and own pool right next to haagen daz, which could be a good or bad thing.

You could also try Kingfisher (next door to Dive Supply) they are a family run outfit with 4 boats and run by a really nice British guy.

(just type in kingfisher and Phuket into google and you will find their website)

Got back a week ago after three weeks in Thailand, i ended up doing my Open Water course with Scuba Cat. Had a great three days, good instructor, looking forward to going back

I have been communicating with the CD from WWD for sometime with plenty of Questions. I looked at othe schools in various locations and what was to offer. I am doing my Instructors plus added speciality instructors certs. I decided on them because they seem well equipped. After having worked in some DC's in the Red Sea and checking out their facilities while there, I decided otherwise. I had good feedback from the CD and, as I said, seem well equipped with good facilities. I leave for Phuket in a couple of weeks. Then again, I am looking at doing the Instr. course which is a bit more involved than say, OW to Rescue, and for me, I like everything going for me.

I would recomend Scandanavian divers.......fluent english....good equipment and very professional.........boat staff are excellent!!!!
