Well another asthmatic gets the go ahead to start classes!

I have been poked, proded, stabbed with needles, x rayed, run to death on tread mills and stuck in a glass booth with dozen hoses stock in my mouth. I guess the real test is to see if you want to dive bad enought to put up with all of this !

Thanks to all the guys and girls who took the time to answer my stupid questions. Now its time to get wet.

Congratulations and I mean it in a special way. My wife is mildly asthmatic. When we decided to dive and I realized this may be a big issue. In fact the first online write-ups I encountered happened to be very much anti diving for asthmatics, I was broken hearted. I was happy to read on and learn there was hope and delighted when she got full clearance from the physician.

Agian congratulations and have fun!

Pete

Congratulations on passing the physical - I am assuming you did this with a qualified hyperbaric doctor!

Even with the all clear, you do need to know the special hazards associated with asthma (or any other thing that might have an impact) and make informed choices.

Have a great time on your course :)

Congradulations... I also have asthma and I am an Instructor. My asthma is better underwater. You will love diving. Train all you can.....

Yes, had to travel out of state to see a DAN refered doctor, well worth the time. I understand my limitations, and the fact I may end up having to call a dive due to these limitations.
