Couldn't find anything in the forum for parking experience at Folly Cove this season. I know the pull-off is resident only, but are there resident only signs up on the cross streets just south of there? I used to park on Woodbury and was wondering if this is still an option.

I usually park up the road, across from the restaurant and have never had a problem. Not sure if that's changed. I'll be there on Sunday though so I'll let you know.

During the "cold" months, you can park right there with no problems.

In the "warm" months, pull in and drop off gear, then go over to the lobster restaurant and park there (as Chris noted). Not an issue. It's a three minute walk back to your gear.

We've parked at the site through late May with no issues. I think we might have even parked there last year mid-summer without being bothered. I'd say enforcement is pretty sporadic but you are always at risk. Anyone now what the penalty is for a ticket?

I would say at night is ok even summer peak season. I have never had an issue on dusk/night dives parking in the pull off. Whatever you do, don't park at the side of the lobster restaurant. I once came across a guy that had his car towed after he got out of the water. It's ok to park across the street on other side but not on the side of the restaurant.

Lots of divers there this morning (Sunday 7/13). Perhaps because high tide was about 0830. Gloucester PD stopped by and politely requested folks to just drop off their gear and move their vehicles elsewhere. Unfortunately, no one could find the driver for one pickup so a tow truck was called. I think the divers came ashore about that same time but we were going in so I do not know how it turned out. Lots of folks parked up the road on Rt 127 just beyond and across the street from the restaurant. We chose to park at the Halibut Point State Park. $2/vehicle but it is fairly secure and not a far downhill walk back to the cove. Did not see anyone ticketed near the restaurant later when we retrieved our vehicles. BTW viz was pretty good.

Went today for a dive. Other divers that were there before me said a female officer came by asked about a truck there waited to see if anyone would move it then called a tow truck.
