Did a quick search and didn't see anything about how long to wait to dive after such surgery to remove a mass for biopsy. Logically one would wait until the immediate surgical trauma was past, a day or two. But, would it be a good idea to wait until healing is complete, a couple weeks?

Similar question here. I just had my thyroid removed less than 2 weeks ago, and my surgeon said wait 2 weeks and I could do ANYTHING I usually do. Then I got my DAN magazine, and I see advice to wait 3 months after cosmetic surgeries. I'm thinking my surgery was a bit more serious than cosmetic....not sure what to do. I was wanting to try and get my advanced certification before fall. Anyone have any input? I would rather err on the side of caution.
