Thinking about getting the Panasonic 45mm Macro lens, but I'm not sure what port it will work with. I'm shooting the Olympus E-M1 Mark III, in an AOI housing. Based on lens size it seems that the AOI FLP-04 Port would work. Is anyone shooting this lens with an AOI housing and if so, what port are you using? Thanks

I'm looking at this lens as an alternative to the 60mm. I have same set up as you but with Mk2.

Why so? I understand it is a slow lens to focus.

Yes! just found the same answer myself on the Panny section. I thought it might be a bit more like the Oly 50mm macro lens, which I loved, but not so.

After more research I also heard how slow it was. I have the 30mm macro, which I like using.

A better choice for general macro never looked at how it is with a diopter. There will be many here who could answer that part...

You can't use a diopter with the 30mm. No benefit since you can come very close to the subject almost touching the port's glass.

Any benefit using the Nauticam CMC-1 with the 30mm, or it it better suited for the 60mm?

I'm not sure what benefit the 30mm will have if you already can get very close to the subject without the CMC. The CMC helps you get very close to the subject so that you can get a bigger image of it, but if you are already there, what more can it do?

The Nauticam port chart for the Olympus/OM system shows that the CMC works with the 60 and 45mm lenses but not with the 30mm for this reason. You can't get any closer to the subject than the port's front glass.

The best answer will come from Nauticam; contact them for advice.

The Panasonic 45 uses the same port as the OLY or Pany 30 mm. It is indeed slow to focus which normally is not a deal breaker for many macro images. It does have better IQ (to me) than the OLY 30. The brain

jelly was shot with the OLY 30 in Raja. I use the 45 a lot during the day with focus lights as well, but for black water it is a big no no.
Enjoy
